Malayasia was supposedly going to introduce the Gold Dinar which was going to be backed by gold, well actually not really backed because it was going to be gold.

the very purpose of this coin was to trade with other islamic nations without impact by fiat currecies such as the U.S. Dollar.

I don't know if they ever did in fact issue this coin.
