The South Tahoe Nugget was located at the intersection of Highway 50 and Kahle Drive. According to Harvey's Fuller's "Index of Nevada Gaming Establishments," it opened on July 4, 1965 and closed its doors forever on March 31, 1981. The games featured at the Nugget, in addition to slots, included blackjack, craps, keno and roulette. That same location later housed John's Tahoe Nugget (1983 to 1991) and Ed's Tahoe Nugget (1991 to 1993).
This seldom seen and hard to acquire roulette set was made by the Burt Company in the 1970's. In checking with two of the most prominent Lake Tahoe collectors and one of this hobby's largest roulette collectors, none of the three had a complete set of all seven colors.
Here's the opportunity to own the complete set of all seven chips. They are plain mold roulettes. That alone makes them uncommon. I have six complete sets available and a few extra individual colors.
Among two of the largest Lake Tahoe collections and what may well be the largest roulette collection in the world, none of the three currently includes a complete set of these chips.
Here is your opportunity to purchase the entire set for only $159 + $3 P&H, $162 total. This is more than $50 below the "low-end" of the Chip Rack value estimate.
If you only would like certain colors, let me know which ones you need.
As always, earliest orders will receive the chips in the best condition. In general, however, these chips are in excellent condition.
To place your order, please send me an e-mail. Let me know what you would like and I'll confirm your order, with the total including P&H, in a return e-mail.
You can also call me toll-free at 1-888-CHIPS-97 (1-888-244-7797).
Thanks very much...
