Why couldn't someone leave a Neutral and comment on the shipping issue, instead of a full blown Negative? In fact three negatives to make a point that could have been done with one.
Where did the phantom buyer come from, who signed up Sept. 30th, did a buy it now Oct 2nd, never paid and left a negative. Sounds suspicious to me? Can't the seller ask ebay for the buyers personal information and see who it was?
A contract IS a contract and you can't change the rules after the auction is closed. Personally I don't bid on items that have No Combined Shipping and sometimes take the time to write the seller a polite note saying, "I'm not bidding on your items because of the usury shipping charges."
If someone demands seperate shipping because they are paying for three items, with full shipping charges, yes they deserve to have each one packed and shipped individually or else get a reduction. The cost of shipping may vary from seller to seller, it includes packing, time, labels, "whatever" But charging two or three times for the same envelope and overhead items, is not right.
How about it? If I don't like the shipping, I don't bid on the items. Simple enough.
If you have a minor dispute, why three negatives to punish someone, when one is all it deserves, or maybe three neutrals for Unhappy.
Feedback was not intended to be used for a difference of opinion, or to punish someone who has different ideas than the other party, but for real issues with sellers such as non-payment, no delivery, fraud, and criminal activities.
My answer, if you don't like what someone charges or something else about their auctions, walk away, don't bid. When their items don't sell, they will learn.
The point is that both sides have some valid points in their favor, it's not cut and dried, one right and one wrong. (I'd go for both wrong, but then it's like trying to break up a fight, where getting in the middle makes me the point of attack)
Aw shucks, You Are Both Wrong. You are BOTH right. Each for different reasons and on different issues.
