As promised, I examined a decent quantity of Luxor $1 chips during my visit and this is the result.
First I had a discussion with a co-operative cage manager and confirmed by inspection that none of the recently delivered uncirculated chips had any UV markings. Most of the chips in use in the poker room appear to be new to 18 months old and a check on two racks there found no symbols either.
What remains of most of the 'older' (dirtier) chips reside in the main bank. I was allowed to take away 5 racks x 3 visits for inspection. Out of those 1500 chips I found 49 with UV markings. This is the breakdown:
LUXOR both sides - 15
NILE both sides - 11
EGYPT both sides - 8
TUT both sides - 5
CIRCUS CIRCUS both sides - 4
PYRAMID - 3
TUT one side only - 1
EGYPT one side only - 1
PYRMAID on side/NILE other side - 1
A few of the LUXOR and NILE were in very poor condition so I discarded them. I retained all the others.
As before, TUT, CIRCUS & PYRAMID in particular were harder to find and although they may have originally existed in equal quantities I will be altering my prices to reflect the apparent scarcity as of now.
I suspect that the ones marked on one side only or different both sides have always been scarcer. These are the first I have ever found. A customer has first call on these - if not taken I will post prices/availability later. The 6 with symbols both sides are available now on my website.
