One other reason you might be getting some junk mail is that you have your email address on your web pages:

I do not use the mail address from my web pages on this board - nor anywhere else for that matter - but I do get spam anyway because it is listed in about the same way as yours. Most of them seem to be from the folks that want me to help them get a few million dollars out of Africa but the drug offers have started to show up as well. I think they use web crawlers to harvest addresses embeded in html - very annoying....

I also get a lot of junk mail at the above address as well - so who knows....
