You mentioned stupid union rules - here is one. They used to let the most senior maintenance employee decide if they wanted to work overtime. It didn't matter what department they came from. So on weeknd overtime you would get people in your area who had no idea what was going on. And on top of that the most senior employee was as wide as he was tall and so was on permanent restriction against climbing.That means that the company paid him 7 days a week for him to sit at a bench and basically do whatever he wanted. Just before the car production was closed they changed the rules.
