Seriously, Mark, you are SO FAR off base here that I have to ask?
"You are hurting because you can't do the job you expect others to do."
Todd is a pit manager at a casino in MS. I doubt he has any expectations about the job someone in AC in a buffet is performing. He also has ABSOLUTLEY NO INPUT in the contract negotiations, but you're lecturing him, and me, about why they should get their raise, or benefits, or whatever. Why is low level management the bad guy? They are caught in the middle and you seem to savor that idea.
That's where I think the Union hurts themselves. They have brainwashed all the members in the little Union Hall pep rally's that they can't rationally debate the issue. The members come out with this total "Go To Hell" attitude that they can't focus on what the issues are. It's just "Management Sucks!" regardless of how well respected that manager was a month ago.
I can't speak for the union as a whole, but the Teamsters in Las Vegas that I worked with were absolute bottom of the barrel morons who expected a handout every chance they could get. And not one of them could tell me why they were going on strike other than they were being told to do it by the Union MANAGEMENT who make a hell of a lot more money from their dues than the laborer's!
