of a PokerStars "freeroll" tournament last night. When I began to watch, there were 15 players left out of the 6000 that signed up. The top nine finishers won an entry into a $250K tournament on Sunday (or comparable tournament dollars of $215). I watched for about 20 minutes until there were only ten players left. The poor guy that busted out in 10th spot had to be soooooooo upset because he had just spent over five hours playing and got the same pay-off as the very first person that busted out...over five hours earlier!!

With regards to pay-offs, Paul, PokerStars has some $10+$1+Rebuy tourneys that actually paid the top 15 players out of 74 that entered...of course, you have to consider rebuys & add-ons that add a significant amount of $$ to the pot. Some of their other $10+$1 tourneys with no rebuys pay the top 9% to 10% of entrants.
