Bummer. At what hotel will you be working? I hope they resolve this before my next visit in Nov.
It will be interesting to see how much longer the strike can last. If there are really 10,000 workers out, it is now costing the union $3,000,000 per week (not counting the lost dues) to sustain the strike and I assume that most of the workers are accustomed to more money than the now $300 per week they are getting (they were only getting $200 which was less than the minimum wage).
In the last report I saw, the casinos aren't even talking to the union and an estimated 10% of the workers have already crossed the picket lines to return to work.
If the casinos can continue to operate without the workers, the union wouldn't appear to have a very strong bargaining position.
We'll see.....
