Forgot to mention that I missed my flight out of Vegas from the G2E show - SWA's last flight out. HINT: be sure to print out your boarding pass on-line, this can only be done after 12:01 am the day of your flight. IF you are cutting it close at the airport, their convenient kiosks will refuse to print a boarding pass - so you end up running to the next terminal to see if they will print one at the main ticket counter (you can't get through to the gate, because Homeland Security won't let you pass without a boarding pass!). By the time the agent at the ticket counter pulls up your record, your plane is pulling away from the gate...

SO, after calling all my usual haunts (Luxor, Mandalay & Bellagio were sold out), I discover that the Comfort Inn (directly across from the Hard Rock) is the best deal for this debacle. As I'm showering, I realize that I'd feel no worse if I lost a few hundred dollars - but I might feel a whole lot better if I won some money. After pulling $300 from the ATM, and spending 1 & 1/2 hours at the craps tables; I found that $1,750 made me sleep quite soundly... MORAL: Sometimes it pays to miss your flight out of Vegas...
