Paypal and all major credit card companies provide *buyer* protection
While I feel sorry for Mike getting stuck for a lost chip, the fact remains that if the tables were turned, he'd be happy to get his money back for a chip that never arrived.
Proof of shipment still doesn't replace proof of delivery.
Maybe the package will turn up and get returned to Mike. One can always hope.
Last time I had a problem, I mailed out chips to three people at the same time, same box and NONE arrived. I can assume I didn't address all of them wrong. And since I used a drop box, I'll guess they got "lost" before they even hit the system.
Could be someone was dipping in and pulling packages, or the pickup guy has a track on me and decided to grab them all. I have no proof of anything and none have been seen or returned. It's been six months, so I consider them lost.
I'll never use that box again even though it was the closest to my office in the industrial park.
All the buyers got replacement chips and never got the first one. (they are regular board members and would have told me.)
