How about this, and it's not for me. Schedule a chat time and day for a get together? Not Monday night, because some folks watch football. Not weekend, because people do things with family and travel.

I guess that leaves Tuesday, Wed. or Thursday.

Chat starts at ??? 7 Eastern is 3 Pacific. (did I do that right?) so if people on the East coast get in at 10 pm then it's 6 pm in CA.

But pick a time, pick a date, and announce there's going to be a chat.

(ps I don't mind registration and having to have a real email address. As much as it takes a little effort to get logged in, it also prevents scammers and trolls from dropping in to pull stuff. A tiny bit of security is better for everyone and not that much of a burdon.)
