A scan is a scan. The only thing you'd have to do is attach the scan to the item. Carlise does it as a thumbnail, which you can change the display size easily (more of that total control thing i love so much).
Im not sure how Checkmate is in relationship to the demension size of the scan displayed, i.e. is it square? If you have different demension scans that aren't square, (i.e. 160 x 155 and 158 x 160) then if you place it into a square display area, the focus will be off. Thats why Greg Susong and Paul Hegge do their scans at a standard of 158 x 158 x 100dpi. I do the same. You can have a higher dpi which will allow you to have better resolution if you are magnifying the thumbnail, but we wont get into that whole thing now. You can adjustthings to maximize the display of your scans.
Back to the question: Yes, you can use your present scans.
