"Then he allowed himself to get side-tracked by Iraq (which is not an "enemy" in the war on terrorism, has no significant ties to al-Qaida and was not in any position to do anything to threaten us"
You've bought into the Michael Moore world view my friend. There are direct ties between Saddam and Al Qaeda, and Saddam himself was planning terrorist attacks on America. His sons were worse than he is. Had we had the foresight to take similar action in Germany in the 1930's, many millions od people might have been spared the torture and death imposed on this planet by Hitler.
"Furthermore, what is happening in Iraq is that we are creating more terrorists than we are eliminating. And doing so at a huge cost to our country in lives and dollars."
More Moore perspective. Talk to the men and women serving in Iraq. Let them tell you first hand that the people in that country are 98% behind their presence. Ask one of them if what they see on the satellite feeds of mainstream American TV is anything close to what they see every day. I can assure you, it isn't. In that lies a large part of the problems we face today. Our own media makes a concerted effort to put our military in a bad light because that light will shine back on GWB. Demoralize our troops and demonize(sp?) our Commander-in-Chief. That's whats happening, and I personally won't sit idly by and watch it happen.
