I worked on this basis: If I owned a shop and someone walked in taking pics I would probably ask what the hell they were doing and ask them to leave. If someone came in and asked if they could take a pic I would say OK. Common courtesy works well in most places but you cant guarantee what rules the security have been given or what side of bed they got out of that morning!

Ive never been asked not to take a pic but I have asked someone on the street to take a picture of me with my camera and received an abrupt NO!
