My reference book of choice is the Campiglia book, period !! I am using the most current issue of that book, and give the accurate value of the stated high book value for any particular chip.
Now that certainly doesn't mean that the chip on my auction is necessarily worth that, which is why I provide a very high resolution picture just to the left of that statement to let the buyer see the true condition of my chip, and further state in my description to look at the pictures to determine what value it may be to them accordingly.
I find it very strange that I have sold thousands of chips using this method, and am routinely complimented for my approach by the buyers that actually buy them and have never had one peep of a complaint from any of them !!
If others choose to use the TCR or any other reference then that is well within their right to do so and I respect that, just as others should respect my right to use my reference book of choice.
As long as I am accurately quoting the most current information available to the public from my book of choice, then there should be no ethical problem at all.
