NE Washington Chips - Expanded

I got back from my Montana trip yesterday after stopping for a day in Spokane. In addition to the Chewelah chips I posted from the hotel on Friday, I was able to visit two other casinos and get a few chips on the way home.

First on the Chewelah Casino: I hadn't noticed earlier, but they have both TRICLUB and TBIRD mold chips in play, the same ones Greg shows for Spokane Indian Bingo in the Chip Guide. I have only the ones shown to trade or sell. Notice the 50c is different from the one on Greg's site. It appears to be a GGS chip.

Northern Quest is a place on US2 about 10 miles outside Spokane, near the airport. It's the largest of the Spokane casinos I visited with 8-10 table games as well as craps and roulette, with lots of slots in two rooms. It's interesting that they have 3 different dollar chips in play: the first with the orange ring around it I'm told was replaced because it was confused with the $5 chip when flat on the table. The other two dollars are similar but one has a squiggle border and the name of the city while the other does not. I don't think this is an error as there were lots of these in play. Only two of these are shown in the ChipGuide.

There was also a blue $2.50 that I didn't know about but I see is on Greg's ChipGuide.

The "Chief" chip is a commemorative issued fairly recently. I found only 2-3 on each table so they appear to have been quickly bought up as souvenirs. The reverse of the Chief chip is almost the same as the regular table chip, but the red box below the casino name is taller and has the lettering in two lines rather than one.

I have only a few of each chip but will sell the Chewelah, Double Eagle, and Northern Quest table chips for face plus $1 a chip, delivered. The Chief chip is $10 as I have only two.

Finally, there is the "Two Rivers" Casino. As Kruse says, "different story here, folks". The address in the ads for Two Rivers says Davenport, WA and that must be their mailing address. However, the location is actually about 25-30 miles north of Davenport, up in the Lake Roosevelt recreation area. This is not on the way to anywhere, and unless you are a boater or fisherman, you will probably never visit. My guess is they use the Davenport location to try to convince Spokane locals, and toursits (like me) to make the drive. Davenport is about 25 miles north and west of Spokane... the casino is another 25 miles on a good asphalt road.

Two Rivers is on the bank of the Spokane river and has 6-8 table games, plus a roulette table. If there was a craps table, I didn't see it. Many funny slots, all using tokens. There were no card readers on the machines so I didn't look for a players' club. I notice there is some kind of a 'patronage card' on Scott's web site. I've linked to it below, but I don't have any of them.

Two Rivers has two different dollars, both shown on Greg's web site. There are three different blue half dollars, though, and the latest one with larger card pips is not on ChipGuide. The early ones with incuse pips (no white color) are in poor shape and there are very few in play. I could only find 4 in searching all the chips on the BJ tables. The pit boss was very helpful in letting me look for variations.

By the way, I notice the $5 BJ chips are ROT and the $1 chips are LOT. I didn't notice thiis till I got home, so there may be other varieties out there to be harvested for the next collector to make the journey up North.

I have from 4 to 10 of each of the chips shown. To help me pay for the gas for the 100 mile detour, I'm asking for face plus $2 a chip for the Two Rivers chips. First orders will get the best chips, but be aware some of the oldest halves are not pretty.

I was asked about "Ticket In Ticket Out" slots in Washington... I didn't see any of the type we know in Nevada. Northern Quest used the "stored value" technique for their slots. You bought a paper ticket from a separate machine and fed it into the slot machine to play. The newer machines also would allow you to store to and play from your players' card mag-stripe. See the next post for a scan of the Chewelah players card.
