You have to remember the only ones that benefit from slabbing are the slabbing companies.
I doubt that anyone needs to have the additional charge of $5.00 [ Which I'm sure is only an initial lure before it's raised to $10 or $15] to let you know that your $1.00 chip is actually worth a buck.
The majority of chips that are sold are LE's anyway that come straight from the cage.
Do these need to be graded?
