You have done what this company wants you to do!
CONFUSE them with
PCGS = Professional Coin Grading Services
Here's their website... http://www.pcgs.com
They are one of the BIG 3 grading companies.
I had some research going on some time back regarding this PGS. Some strange business practices to say the least.
Pete Sanders brought up some interesting points about this grading service already.
From their website I copied the FAQ for cards but reads the same for coins...
Does PGS buy or sell cards?
Answer:
No.
WRONG!!! WRONG!!! WRONG!!!
How do I let PGS sell my cards on ?
Answer:
For an additional fee, with a minimum card submission of 20 items, PGS will post and sell your items on Ebay. Please contact us at 423-629-8861 for further details.
So PGS does sell their graded items even if it IS on consignment!
It's in THEIR best interest to OVERGRADE any item that they will be selling via consignments on .
They are essentially buying the item "IF" it sells on and sending the consignor a purchase price minus additonal fees.
I need to find my old research on this company.
Some people were thinking that they are NOT grading other peoples items and selling them on . BUT are directly obtaining(purchasing) these items, grading them, and then selling them on .
If you notice most of the sellers selling PGS graded items the seller's location is usually always, Chattanooga, TN as is the location for PGS company.
