NCR BankNotes For Your Viewing Pleasure

Tonight’s selection was prompted from an article in the Smithsonian magazine I read last night at the hospital. It was about the secret city of Machu Picchu in the country of Peru.
While this note does not date back to the Inca ruins it does depict ruins much like the city. The note is a 1969 issue 5 Soles De Oro from Peru and printed by Thomas de La Rue of London Ltd. The front depicts Inca artifacts on the left and Inca Dinka Do (just kidding, wanted to see if you actually read this stuff). On the right is Inca Pachacútec and the Peruvian seal in the center. The back is the ruins of Fortaleza Sacsahuaman. The book Value is $2.00 UNC

The exchange rate would be misleading due to this currency being obsolete, it has been replaces several times with different units of currency (Intis, and later Nuevos Soles). Enjoy

EXTRA: The last image is the back of the 1995 Issue 10Nuevos Soles with a plane flying upside down (No idea what they are proud of here)

They are sure proud of this guy (below) for some reason! Go figure..
