... (isn't there always a "but" ) ... I don't think that point system would properly reward those who do well in tournaments with more players. Finishing first in a tournament with 60 players should be worth more than finishing first in a tournament with 30 players.
On the other hand, just counting the number of players you beat fails to properly reward success. In 30 player tournaments, for example, I think a 1st and a 19th (worth 29 and 11 points respectively, for a total of 40) is a superior performance to two 10th place finishes (each worth 20 for a total of 40).
Do you know or can you find out how they score the WS of Poker for the top overall player? I tried without success to find it on the internet tonight.
