I've wondered how many of the dealers at the annual convention actually make a profit if you were deduct all their expenses: airfare, hotel bill, meals, renting the table, etc. I figure many of them do it more for the fun of it than because they are able to go home with a profit. (And many of them would probably attend the convention anyway so what they do make defrays part of the cost of their trip even if they aren't making a "profit.")
