Starting with Nixon calling his opponents communists back in the 40's, and burglarizing the Watergate in the 70's, and lying about the Willie Horton situation in '88, and right up to now with the AWOL having his dogs do the dirty work against Kerry I would say the right wingers have been characterized accurately.

By the way, the conservatives had no respect for the office when it was occupied by Clinton. I saw their vile characterizations of him when they were having a get-together of some sort in Sept., 1993 at the Washington Hilton and I happened to also be staying there.
