What is the difference between and "error" and a "production mistake"?

My understanding is an "error" has something spelled incorrectly, wrong denom on one side, etc.

A "production mistake" is if the edgespot material drips into the interior of the chip and things like that.

Are "production mistakes" the same as "errors"? How do they affect value?
