I was really trying to find some information about these types of cards that were used in local book making parlors.
I have a good knowledge of the casinos, and have allot of that information spelled out in my book on Hot Springs, but nothing on the cards.
These cards just seem to have been used early on in our local history and there's not much information on them. (Everyone from this time period is gone now.) I've even researched the net looking for sites on book making history, with no luck.
Thought someone would know about them on this board. I know they were used in illegal off track betting, and for the era used, were done professionally. The numbers on the outside and watermark print in the center compare to the betting stubs used at the race tracks to prevent counterfeiting, This showed that controls existed between the different betting locations, especially with these being circa 1905 - 1913.
Still hope to get some more info from someone out there.......
