Borlands hot stamps are a darker color than those used by Burt Co for BJ. The chips we are discussing have this darker color. This dates them after the time Borland bought the molds. Thats why I said they could not be 'samples sent to Borland when he bought the mold'

In the case of the $1, Gene can probably confirm that there would have been a Burt Co order card from 10 years previous for the original order.

I know the whole issue is confusing for many which is why I am trying to piece together all the articles and comments as we speak.

From all I have seen - even scans seem to show the difference in the foil. The darker foil appears black in patches. The article will hopefully contain examples of both.
