I was going by the information in your post. Perhaps I misunderstood? My wild guesses were posed as a question.
Gene: "If it wasn't in the BJ records then Borland had to have made it, since only two people, (Bud Jones & Borland) had owned the mold up to that time."
Your post stated he made the chip, and that it was made for an open casino.
Gene: "It is the only "Real" chip I know of that was sold to a casino by Borland."
Since the chip wasn't known at the time you got it, I assumed (obviously incorrectly) that the chip was never put into play.
Personally, I'm familiar with the white 0.25 diecards (TCR# N3231), but not the purple. I didn't realize that they were in play at battle mountain until you just mentioned it.
Ok..now Im confused by this:
Gene: "How could he test the mold, as he never had the capability to actually make the chips?"
Didn't you already say he made the chips???
I know I have to be missing something here!
BTW, great and interesting information in your post to Rick. I have a couple questions though:
You stated that Jim Blanchard "converted the HHR mold" I'm not sure what you mean by that. What did he convert it to?
I've always been fond of the HHR and HHL molds.
I think I'm going to need a timeline and a flow chart for all of this!
