The club board states the following under 'benefits of membership'
"You receive a membership card and are entitled to use the club logo on your business cards and web pages."
I and many others use the logo on my website as a link to the club site. Others have quantities of stationery printed with the club logo. I know this from correspondence I have received.
I doubt that any of these are aware that there are any 'rules' governing the use of the logo other than that I have quoted above.
For people with websites it would be a trouble free amendment for anyone that had to do so, but I guess there will be people who will have to incur the cost of reprinting stationery.
Surely the purpose of a club logo is for that to be instantly 'recognisable', and as a club, the logo is owned by the membership. I have been a member of many clubs during my life and the payment of your subscription always meant an entitlement to use that logo, not an 'alternative' version as has been suggested. An alternative logo may not be so instantly recognisable.
If however, a decision has been made due to 'misuse' of the logo in the past, then I could accept that, but only feel it fair everyone in the club should know why.
