O.K. Obviously the filming took place inside Circus, the Hilton/International, and on Fremont St - but I just got the DVD and it mentions that there was significant filming in the Riviera as well... There is also a mention of the Tropicana...
I'm interested in one series of scenes from the movie: Bond (Connery) & Plenty O'Toole (Lana Wood) playing craps, and Lana getting thrown out a window into a swimming pool. Just before playing craps, Bond is walking through the casino and passes a "Gold Room" sign, as well as a showroom (plus a lot of cool Bally slot machines). I'm wondering if anybody knows if the interior casino shots in these scenes were the Hilton, Riviera, or Circus? Additionally, does anybody recognize the pool Lana was thrown into (Hilton, Riviera or?)?
*Note that Cubby Broccoli (the Director) was close friends with Howard Hughes, and got the green light from Howard to do filming ANYWHERE, in ANY of his casinos...
BONUS ROUND: Which casinos did Howard Hughes own in 1970-71?
Bob Hiestand has somehow figured out how to screen-capture from a DVD, and the appropriate pics are posted as Replies. If you recognize any of the locations (even though the film was made in '71, you may remember these locations from visits spanning the late 60's to mid '70's)please post your thoughts...
WHY am I obsessed with this movie? I want to aquire a collection of suitable chips from these Hotel/Casinos, to surround this double-autographed publicity photo:
