Here is a tight area of what I think is the repair.

It looks like a double "Waffle" pattern. Like someone might have filled the missing chunk with material and then re-molded just that area; giving it a double waffle or cross-hatch area around the edges.

What do you think, could it be a repair of a Borland fake! :-) A double whammy!
