Gene, Once again, I still don't understand. You say "the table scaners are tracking average bets by players. Average bet = comps."
Being that I don't play any table games, I guess I am out of the loop. I was under the impression that the floorman or dealer or some human was watching the players and tracking their play. You say now that they have a scanner replacing a human? Even if this is so, I don't see how a chip within a chip can keep track of whose chip is being played.
E.g. if I buy more chips at the crap table or 21 table, do they have special chips that they will give me and not another player?
The only benefit I see that having a chip within a chip will do is to verify that the chip is not a counterfeit, and if it cost $1.80 to make a $1.00 chip, that does not make sense either.
Seems to me I'm misunderstanding this whole thing.
