Sheldon, Sounds like the coin dealer is just fishing. He is afraid of offering it too cheap because he is unsure what it is worth. Most coin dealers pay around $8 for Silver strikes and are happy if they can sell them for $15. If I can find my silver strike CD tomorrow I will look it up for you to see what full retail would be. Of course you shouldn't pay that much.. that would be equivalent to paying full Red Book price to the coin dealer for coins.
