When I was first married....I remember panicking when I woke up to the fact that my wife was mismanaging our money and we were over our heads. I consolidated bills and took out a loan. We played poor until the debits were satisfied. A few years later we began to slip into the same situation but not as bad. I took over the finances and we never again were in the black. You spend less than you make, and you always save something. It's a bitter pill, but the debit you mentioned is not life threatning! I paid $1500 on my MasterCard and $1,000 on Amex last month. A key word is PAYOFF each month. Don't charge unless money is available.
