... Michael, but Jim did. By law, a copyright attached to each one the moment it was used by Jim here on the ChipBoard. He is within his legal rights to insist that they not be reused without his consent. In fact, his failure to do so could result in the loss of the copyrights. Granted there is no monetary issue here, but I understand his objection to the use of the photos without consent.
BTW, once a subject has consented to be photographed (or is photographed in a public place), the copyright of the photo is held by the photographer, not the subject, and it is the photographer who has the right to control the use of the photo, not the subject.
I do agree with Rick's post immediately above that this is a loss for everyone. The problem could easily have been avoided.
