A lot of them have a computer program where they can bring them all up on a screen. Many times I cash in chips at other casinos not to go back to where they came from.
On a side note a few weeks ago I saw the cops walking someone through Binions. He grabbed 11 black chips and then went across the street and tried to cash them at the Golden Nugget. Not to smart and he's lucky it wasn't the old Binions he tried this in.
