Crest and seals were simply considered any check with an inlay, whether it had a plain mold, hub small key, etc.
For collecting purposes, I consider a crest and seal as a plain mold check with a solid inlay. Additionally there must be a clear protective coating. This definition would eliminate all the 1970's Nevada roulettes (Barneys, Nugget, Sahara-Tahoe, Primadonna, etc).
Actually the latest acceptable crest and seal type chips would be the Flamingo, Dunes, LVC type checks. I think the LVC c&s are from the 60's.
Although the "BG" and "LN" checks below fit the compaanies' definition of C&s, I would refer to them as reverse die-cuts.
