I find your argument that they are legal gaming chips to be reprehensible! They are no better than souvinier chips just as stated in TCR.
2. Donate the entire batch (save for one set for you personal collection) to a CCGTCC member, who is also not on The List (I exclude myself) or to the CCGTCC (in that instance it would be tax deductible) for subsequent dissemination into the collector community in a manner selected by the receiver. In the case of an individual, he/she may keep a single set, but cannot realize a profit from the subsequent distribution. In the case of the Club, the Club can keep a single set, and can disseminate the checks as a fund-raiser, if so desired by the Officers.
I find this idea reprehensible!
If the club officers would accept such a deal, I would no longer be a member of the club. Not much of a threat but it would be my way of saying, baloney.
That said, I have a set also. I got them from Dealer 1 (in Jim Reilly's post above) I got them before I even suspected there was anything amiss with with them, I would say day 2 of them hitting his site. I was told a story about them being obtained from a BJ table. That story was later retracted.
