Back in the 1950's while my late Father was teaching at West Point a Senior Cadet in an engineering class proposed that if every water spigot on the campus was turned on and then turned off at appx. the same time it would burst the water main in a pre-determined junction under ground. Needless to say his instructors thought he was a bit off and gave him a failing grade on his project. To make a long story short he enlisted his fellow classmen and everyone else that he could he could con into his scheme. They were all stationed around the base and at a preset time they all turned on every fauct on the base, then they turned them all off at the preset time. Guess what? MAJOR WATER MAIN RUPTURE in the exact spot where the Cadet said it would happen. PASSING GRADE This is a true story and it can be found in the records of West Point Mil. Acd.
