... and happens a lot with coins (for the purpose of resubmitting in hopes of getting a higher "grade" the next time around). Probably have to be a little more careful with chips because of their more fragile nature.
The slabs are not designed to be opened -- they are "permanently" sealed. So, "cracking" them requires the intentional destruction of the slab -- and it isn't easy.
