Class EP-4 EF-4 20 were origionally orderd from GE by our Friends the Russians for their 5 foot guage Siberian Railway. The Cold War set in and an embargo was placed on the order.
4,750 HP 3,300Volt DC. The Milwaukee was first to test the Locomotives but turned them down due to adhesion problems. The Chicago Southbend and South Shore Railroad bought 3 and 5 went to Brazil. After weight was added to fix the adhesion problem the Milwaukee aquired the last 12.
