I was on ebay just now, and saw a chip I still need for my collection. The current high bidder is a CC>CC member. This member is also an ebay "power seller". When I checked out his auctions currently on ebay I noticed the exact same chip up for auction by him. (At about four times the current price.) Now, I understand that money drives a lot of people to do the things they do, but doesn't this hurt our hobby?
Instead of going to a collector that needs the chip for their collection, this chip will probably be won by the "power seller" who will jack up the price, add it to his "buy it now" auctions, and wait for someone who must have it at any price.
People do have the right to buy and sell chips for a profit. I don't really know for sure what he intends to do with the chip. I am just a little steamed because I need it, and he doesn't.
Please all you power selling collectors out there, think of the other club members before you place a bid on a chip you don't really need.
Thanks for letting me vent,
Glenn
