Just a couple of suggestions if you don't mind. First if you are going to scan a chip that is black you really shouldn't use a black background, If the back of the scanner panel is black then maybe try putting a white piece of paper to augment the image. Second and if possible try cropping down the image so it's not so big. Hope you take this advice to heart and not offense.
