We did rather wander from the question. Of course I am concerned with the number of gun death, as well as the number of knife deaths, reckless driving arrests, etc. The fact is that for a few generations our society has seen the family disintegrate, personal responsibility abandoned. There are so many contributing problems that it would be unfair to others on the board to launch a long post on the subject.

Let's just say that our society is feasting on violence, both in our entertainment and in our nation's daily life.

In practice I am a very gentle person, as all who know me can attest. But I still value our right to keep and bear arms, both in protecting our families and our nation.
