TGT lists the Presidential Casino as Nairobi, Kenya, circa 1970's. What was/is their monetary unit?

Casino Morongo? Is this a US chip?

Showing both sides of the last chip. California, I believe, but why are two casinos on the same chip? One owner of both properties? Is this a common practice? I can't recall seeing this before.
