I have seen the same thing as Jason. Most of us don't have several hundred items all scanned and written up ready to dump from the bulk lister when eBay springs these nice little surprises on us. The other advantage of his generic listings is FREE relistings if he relists an item below that price during a subsequent, non glut period on ebay over the next month and the item sells. This could certainly add up to substantial savings for him if he sells a lot of high end items.
