The smallest chip I got while over there was at Metilista Casino in Moscow where they used Cherry Casino dollar denominated chips. Only thing is, when they sold you the chips they sold them in Rubles not dollars. At 28 Rubles to the dollar, the $25 chip was equavalent to a $1 chip and the $100 chip was used as about a $5 chip. While cashing out I noticed a guy who had some $5 chips in his drawer. I managed to convey to him (hard to do since I don't speak Russian)that I wanted some of the $5 chips. He traded me and I ended up with chips at a net cost of about $.18 each. I have no idea what they would do with such small chips but I was still happy to get them.
I got some nice but worn $.50 Jetons at the Panda casino in St. Petersburg. During the 3 or 4 days we were there they never had more than one BJ table open and every time I got up they wanted me to cash in. I kept telling them that I would be back later. The funny thing was that they had only about 1/4 of the chip rack filled. They had maybe 10 or 15 of the jetons in the rack. By the time I left I had more of the chips than they did.
