FINAL REPORT ON THE "S" FLAMINGO CHIP SALE grin

In late April I offered an S rated Flamingo chip for sale that was consigned to me from an acquaintance (who bought it for $15 and offered it to me for the same price). I offered it to the first person who was interested for $250 on a guaranted return if unsatisfied basis and said I would donate my commission to the Building Club fund. A member of our club made the offer and I attempted to complete it by repeatedly asking for his postal address but received no responnse from him. I posted a request on this board but the buyer did not respond though he made other posts on the board. When all efforts to obtain the address failed I reluctantly posted a complaint with the CC>CCC Claims Director, Jim Pierre and posted a copy to the buyer. That brought an immediate response with a repeat of the $250 offer. He said he had not received any post from me advising of the acceptance of the offer. This ultimately resulted in the sale of the chip to him for $250. Although the buyer reported that the chip was not in the condition anticipated [I had warned buyers that the center insert was loose on one side], he stood by his offer. {I again assured him I would stand behind my unconditional return of the chip with all costs repaid.] Thus on the last day of the convention I was able to give to the Club's building fund a check for the 25% commission (plus additional payment). I am pleased that that the matter ended amicably and hope the buyer was satisfied. Over $50 from his offer went to the club. I have reported the satisfactory conclusion of the matter to Jim Pierre. I won't release his name unless he permits me to do so.
