go ahead and blow out the hard drive and then reinstall Windows.
If it is WinXP or Win2K, it is pretty easy to do:
just put your Win CD in CD drive, make sure computer will boot from CD drive, then reboot and select a clean install when it asks you. Then when it asks if you want to format your HD click Yes. But be warned, after you do that, it will wipe out everything on the hard drive.
If you are running an earlier version of windows, I believe you will have to create a boot floppy to get the machine going.
