An aside.

About 10 years ago when I was in the Reno/Tahoe area, I stopped at Ormsby House in Carson City. I sat down to play 21 (and collect a few chips, of course), and noticed that the ashtray had both the Ormsby House and Boomtown logos. I mentioned it to the dealer, who confirmed they were both owned by the same people at the time.

I said, "That's in Verdi (pron: vair-dee), isn't it?"

He replied, "Nope. Verdi (vair-dee) is the opera. The casino's in Verdi (verd-eye)."

I didn't suggest to him that Verdi was a composer, not an opera.
