Graf Zepelin stamps sold for as little as .65¢, $1.30, $2.60 when originally issued. Has anyone checked the prices lately?
Many chips I purchased 15-20 years ago are selling for hundreds of dollars today. Not eveyone can afford $100 for a chip today ... much less $1,000. Collect what you enjoy ... and enjoy what you are able to afford collecting. Those who can afford to pay five figures for their chips are probably having as much fun as those who are spending $25 for theirs. Not eveyone can afford upside down airplane stamps or 1804 Silver Dollars. It does not mean that the hobby is going to h ell in a hand basket.
